If you are looking for significance, putting “feet” to your faith is how it happens. Below are just some of the many opportunities to be Jesus to others at Skycrest (day and time information is included):
VOLUNTEER NEEDS AT SKYCREST:
KidZone Children’s Ministry
- Children’s check-in: Help print out children’s security badges and direct families to their classes (8:45 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Sunday; 6:30 p.m. Wednesday)
- Nursery caregiver: Do you have a special knack with babies? Help us tend the infants in our care. (9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday)
- Preschool class leader/assistant: Help us minister to our preschoolers by leading or assisting in a class. (9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday)
- Elementary class leader/assistant: Help us minister to our K5-5th graders by leading or assisting in a small group. (10:45 a.m. Sunday)
Transformed Student Ministry
- High school small group leader: Be an adult role model for a high school small group. (9 a.m. Sunday; 6:30 p.m. Wednesday)
- Student ministry support team: Help support Transformed by serving on our tech team, operating our café, organizing special events or helping with special projects.(9 a.m. Sunday; 6:30 p.m. Wednesday)
- Middle school small group leader: Be an adult role model for a middle school small group. (9 a.m. Sunday; 6:30 p.m. Wednesday)
First Impressions
- Connection Center volunteer: Help us make sure our guests' experience at Skycrest is a great one by greeting them warmly as they arrive on campus, answering their questions and escorting them to classes or the worship service. (8:45 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. Sunday)
- Door greeter: Help us make our visitors feel like honored guests as they arrive at our doors. (10:15 a.m. Sunday)
- Lobby host: These roving greeters provide helpful information about directions, class times, children's programs and more. (10:15 Sunday)
- Usher: Help hand out connection guides, direct people to available seats and assist with collecting offerings. (10 a.m. Sunday)
- Worship center host: These greeters scout out unfamiliar faces in a designated area of the worship center, make introductions and ensure our guests know we care about them. (10:40 a.m. Sunday)
Worship
- Praise Team: Help lead our church in worship through singing or playing an instrument. (9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday; 6:45 p.m. Wednesday)
- Tech Team: Help us run the sound board, computer and lighting for our worship celebration. You don’t have to have tons of experience. We’ll train you! (9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Sunday; 6:45 p.m. Wednesday)
Special Ministries
- Baptism: Help assist those who are being baptized during a worship service. (10 a.m. varied Sundays)
- English Language Classes: Help lead or assist in our English language ministry or care for their children during class time. (7 p.m. Thursday)
- Exceptional Student Ministry: Help transport exceptional students in our church van to their own special Bible class on Sunday mornings. Assistants are also needed to help students in the classroom and in the worship service.
- Hospitality: Help prepare coffee on Sunday mornings and organize food service for special church events. (8:45 a.m. Sunday; other varied times)
- Men’s Ministry: Help assist in our men’s ministry (7:30 a.m. second Saturday of the month).
- Missions: Do you have a passion for missions? We have several local mission endeavors that require shopping, connecting with students and organizing skills. We also have a missions team that oversees all of our mission endeavors locally, nationally and internationally. (varied days and times)
- Reach Ministry: Help our Reach volunteers visit homebound church members and those who are sick in the hospital. (Tuesday mornings)
- Women’s Ministry: Help assist in our women’s ministry (9:30 a.m. Thursday)
