The Fruit of the Spirit (2026)
The Fruit of the Spirit (2026)
10 studies, in the order they were taught. All series
Fruit of the Spirit: Walk by the Spirit
Galatians 5:16–17, 22–23
Starting a new study. Christlike character does not come from keeping rules but from walking by the Spirit and staying connected to God through his Word, prayer and worship.
Love: The Root of All Fruit
Galatians 5:22–23
Love is the first fruit and the root of the others. We cannot produce it ourselves, but the Spirit pours God's love into us as we keep our eyes on the cross.
Joy: Rejoice in All Circumstances
Galatians 5:22–23
Joy is different from happiness because it does not depend on circumstances. Paul wrote of joy from prison, and we can choose joy by keeping our eyes on Jesus and heaven.
Peace: Resting in God's Control
Galatians 5:22–23
Real peace is found in a perfect Savior, not perfect circumstances. Like Jesus asleep in the storm, we can rest when we trust that God is in control.
Patience: Waiting with God
Galatians 5:22–23
In a hurry-up world, the Spirit grows patience with difficult people and hard seasons. We wait on God eagerly, and we remember how patient he has been with us.
Kindness and Goodness: Faith in Action
Galatians 5:22–23
Kindness and goodness are the gospel put into action. God has shown us both, and Jesus tells us, as in the story of the Good Samaritan, to go and do likewise.
Faithfulness: Saul and Daniel
Galatians 5:22–23
Faithfulness is a lifestyle of commitment and obedience. Saul took the easy way and lost his kingdom, while Daniel kept praying despite the lions' den. God rewards faithful servants.
Gentleness: Strength Under Control
Galatians 5:22–23
Gentleness is not weakness but strength under control. Jesus showed it with the woman caught in adultery, and the Spirit grows it in us so others see Jesus.
Self-Control: Guard Your Heart
Galatians 5:22–23
Even disciplined people struggle with self-control. The Spirit gives it as we guard our hearts, train ourselves like runners, and run from temptation instead of trusting our own strength.
How Fruit Grows: Remain in the Vine
John 15:1–11
Closing the fruit of the Spirit studies, Jesus teaches that we bear fruit only by staying connected to him, like branches in a vine, not by trying harder.
